Thailand’s Section 112 of the Criminal Code, commonly known as the lèse majesté law, criminalizes defamation, insult, or threats against the monarchy. In recent years, its application has extended far beyond its original intent, suppressing peaceful expression and silencing dissenting voices. In response to this climate of censorship, and inspired by Monotype’s trend report that reimagines the role of typography in activism, we created “Pracharath Oppressed”—a dynamic typographic intervention rooted in resistance.
